About
I am a Software Architect at Akai Kaeru where I am part of a team developing a no/low code visual data science platform focusing on high-dimensional data. My work lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Analytics, and Data Science. I design visual interfaces for the human-in-the-loop platform and develop various data transformation and modeling algorithms.
I am also a Research Assistant Professor at the Computer Science Deapartment in Stony Brook University. I mainly supervise student projects in the areas of Visual Analytics, Information Visualization, and Human-Computer Interaction
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University under Prof. Klaus Mueller's supervision at the Visual Analytics and Imaging Lab. My dissertation focused on enabling general participation in visualization i.e. it studied how to build visualizations and visual analytics interfaces for people with varying levels of visualization literacy. Prior to joining Stony Brook University, I completed my bachelor's degree at Padre Conceição College of Engineering, Goa University, India in 2011
My research interests include Visual Analytics, Information Visualization, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Human-Computer Interaction.
Projects
Patterns of Social Vulnerability
An interactive dashboard to explore risks patterns to public health at the US County Level.
We study infomages, a special type of infographic that embeds data into a contextual image. We then design a tool to create these infomages.
Visual Anaysis of Dominance Hierarchies
An interactive visual analytics tool to study dominance hierarchies by investigating interaction sequences.
